Operation GuidelinesTSRI, in collaboration with PMUs, proceed with the following operations:
  • Collect/analyse SRI needs from research users by selecting research topics and creating innovations appropriate for TBIR/TTTR measures
  • Assess technical merit and commercial usage, including market potential, technological risks and user requirements
  • Assess the qualifications of the private sector fund recipients who have potential in the SRI field (Project leader)


TSRI, in collaboration with PMUs, proceed with the following operations:
  • Evaluate the result of phase I
  • Emphasise assessing the commercial viability, including factors related to successful commercial expansion; in this regard, a commercialisation plan must be specified in the project proposal
PMUs proceed to:
  • Provide supports with mechanisms and other measures in line with the existing missions of the Program Management Unit, such as NIA and PMU “C” support, etc.
  • Recommend other funding sources that focus on the commercial utilisations of technology or research, such as other funds, venture capital or corporate venture capital, etc.
Notes* Might provide funding for 2-3 project proposals under the same research and innovation topic
* PMUs are responsible for defining criteria and processes for receiving funds
* Fund recipients of TTTR Phase I can apply for the TBIR Fund Phase II
* If the project demonstrates technical and marketing potential evidently, PMUs can provide Phase II funding without requiring passage through Phase I
* PMUs are responsible for defining criteria and processes for receiving funds
