Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI) was established under the National Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation Policy Council Act B.E. 2562 (2019). Its operations are also governed by other key legislation that provides the legal framework for Thailand’s science, research and innovation (SRI) system.

Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI) operates within the legal framework governing Thailand’s higher education, science, research and innovation (SRI) system. This framework defines TSRI’s statutory roles and responsibilities, the governance of public investment in science, research and innovation, and the mechanisms that promote the utilisation of research and innovation for national development.

These Acts and related regulations provide the foundation for a coherent, transparent and accountable SRI system. They support strategic planning, budget allocation, research funding, performance monitoring and evaluation, and the translation of research and innovation into tangible economic, social and environmental benefits.
